In "CHESSLESS", artist Morten Klementsen plunges us into a surreal, unsettling world inspired by the haunting mysteries of "Twin Peaks". We find ourselves in the grand manor of a powerful family in Chesterfield, England, where young chess prodigy Mark has been summoned to play. Yet, as he enters the strange, dimly lit "chess room", he discovers no chessboard awaits him - only an atmosphere of profound unease.

Klementsen masterfully evokes a sense of the uncanny, the disconnect between expectation and reality creating a palpable tension. Mark's expression of bemused bewilderment mirrors our own as viewers, drawn into this world where the familiar has been distorted and the rules of order have been upended. Through this conceptual exploration of the missing game, Klementsen invites us to ponder the nature of power, privilege, and the fragility of certainty in the face of the unknown.

With its rich, cinematic aesthetic and disquieting narrative undertones, "CHESSLESS" is a striking work that lingers in the mind, challenging us to question the boundaries between reality and the unseen forces that may shape our lives.
